Where does Red Bull come from?
Although it might be a myth, its not a secret. In the
early 70s, Dietrich Mateschitz, today's
managing partner of Red
Bull GmbH (Ltd.), spent a lot of his time in Asia. Here is where he came
upon the so called "Energy Drinks". Asian
managers drank a syrup kind of fluid before meetings in order to be able to
stay awake and concentrated even through long conferences.
And this is how Dietrich Mateschitz
developed his idea: He brought this obviously effective product to Austria,
developed a marketing concept and christened the drink " Red Bull ". In
1987, he introduced the product to the Austrian market, followed by different
Eastern European countries, England and the German market in 1994. In the
meantime, Red Bull
is available in 20 countries - in Europe, Asia
and in California/USA. 140 million cans were drunk the World over in 1996 - making the brand that opened a
new drink category the unchallenged market leader. (Distribution Partner and Red Bull offices)
The story of this unusual success is probably the
reason for different rumours which report the strange effects the drink can
have. Yet it has been proven that Red Bull does not harm your health. And even more: its
effect has been proven to be positive and even effective. (More to this on
product info)
You can not only party longer with Red Bull. The energy
drink everywhere, where there's drive and dynamic: snowboarding, skiing, mountain
biking, free climbing, windsurfing and also in motor sports at the formula 1
and formula 3, at rallies and motor cross racing.
What actually is Red Bull?
There's no question about it: Red Bull is an intelligent drink. At first, Red Bull was placed as
a "Taurin - and caffeine consistent drink" next to the lemonades,
cokes and isotonic drinks. This was wrong. With its new type of recipe, Red Bull deserves a
privileged position: it is a utility drink to be taken against mental or
physical weariness or exhaustion. Red Bull combines two natural substances and important
metabolic transmitters - the amino acid Taurin and the Glucuronolacton - with
stimulating caffeine, vitamins and the energy provided by carbohydrates.
Contents
* Taurin and Glucuronolacton (natural and body own
agents, which serve as metabolism transmitters)
* Caffeine
* B-complex vitamins
* Carbon hydrates
How does Red Bull work?
To put it briefly, Red Bull revitalizes the body and mind. Although the
intentions are good and training helps, there are limits to physical endurance.
Great physical efforts, athletic performances, but also job stress and worry
have a simple effect: inefficiency and tiredness both mentally and physically. This
is when you need wings - from Red Bull. Because the energy drink causes
* Fast replacement of the spent substances of
the metabolism
* Increase of breakdown of harmful substances
* Improved vigilance
* Better concentration and reaction capability
* Stimulation of circulation and nervous system
* Increased stamina
Red Bull does not only contribute
towards a noticeable prevention against a decline in performance, fatigue and
exhaustion. The energy drink measurably improves the efficiency of physical
performance. It was proven scientifically in 1980, that load test probands
increased their length of load by up to 25% with Red Bull. They developed less stress hormones and
required a shorter period for regeneration.
And this is how it works:
* Red Bull replaces important body substances,
especially after increased exertion.
* Harmful agents are broken down faster.
* The body is quickly supplied with useful energy
and vitamins.
* Taurin contributes towards an improvement of the
muscle tonus with a disorder of the electrolytic balance.
Tips for athletes
Red Bull even gives you wings on
the home stretch. Based upon scientific studies, the following recommendations
can be given for athletes:
Tip 1:
During physical endurance for over an hour, 1-2 cans of
Red Bull can be
drunk about 30-45 minutes before the end. This helps during the final sprint
e.g. during bike races or long-distance running, but also during half time
breaks in football, handball, basketball or volleyball games.
Tip 2:
Red Bull does not replace fluid -
that is why it is necessary to drink additional water! This also decreases the
caffeine concentration. Just one last rumour: Red Bull does not act as doping! The caffeine dosage of Red Bull is equivalent
to that of a cup of filtered coffee.
Tip 3:
Red Bull mixed with water in a
ratio of 1:1 is absorbed even faster and
helps accordingly against lack of fluid.
Wild rumours - and CLEAR facts!!!
